Truemed partners with health brands so qualified customers can use their HSA/FSA benefits on eligible items. On eligible one-time orders, it appears as a payment option at checkout. An independent licensed practitioner reviews your health survey, and Truemed handles your Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) and payment.
There are two paths, depending on whether your order is a one-time purchase or a subscription.
One-time orders: pay with HSA/FSA at checkout
Add the items you want and continue to checkout. Check out as a guest, not with Shop Pay or Apple Pay, so the Truemed option appears.
At checkout, choose Truemed as your payment method to pay with HSA/FSA.
Fill out Truemed's clinical intake form. An independent licensed practitioner will review it to determine whether to issue a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN).
Enter your HSA/FSA card on the Truemed payment page. If you qualify, your payment is completed once your LMN is issued, and Truemed emails you your LMN and receipt.
Subscriptions: get reimbursed after checkout
Subscribe and pay with your regular card. Truemed does not appear at checkout when your cart contains a subscription.
Use the Truemed link on your order confirmation page or in your confirmation email. Complete it on the same day as your purchase.
If you qualify, Truemed emails your LMN with instructions. Submit your LMN and receipt to your HSA/FSA administrator. The same LMN can cover recurring charges for up to 12 months.
Eligibility is set item by item, and not every item qualifies.
Truemed determines which products may qualify based on IRS guidelines, so the list may change over time. If your order includes eligible items, you will see the option to pay with Truemed at checkout. Look for the "Pay with HSA/FSA" line on product pages.

Each LMN is issued at the practitioner's sole discretion. Truemed emails your LMN to you, and you can also find it in your Truemed account. Keep it with your receipt for your records.
Yes, through reimbursement. Truemed does not appear as a payment option at checkout when your cart contains a subscription. Instead, check out with your regular card, then complete Truemed's health survey on the same day using the link on your order confirmation page or in your order confirmation email. If you qualify, submit your LMN and receipt to your HSA/FSA administrator for reimbursement. The same LMN can cover recurring charges for up to 12 months.

Yes, on one-time orders. If your HSA/FSA balance does not cover the full amount, you can pay the rest with a credit or debit card during checkout.
Yes. Choose your regular card in the Truemed checkout. After your purchase, Truemed emails you instructions for submitting your LMN and receipt to your HSA/FSA administrator. Each administrator has its own rules and makes its own decision.
Refunds are handled by Gum of Gods, not Truemed, and go back to your original payment method. Refunds to an HSA/FSA card can take longer than standard card refunds. If you have not received yours after 15 business days, contact your HSA/FSA card issuer.

For most plans, FSA funds expire December 31, but deadlines and grace periods vary by plan. Check with your FSA administrator for your plan's rules.
